SL 55 AMG R 230 (2001-2006), Obsidian Black

In June 2001, the Mercedes-Benz SL of the R 230 model series was presented for the first time to the Hamburger press at the Deichtorhallen, which stood for driving pleasure and driving safety with its combination of electronic suspension systems that was then unique in the world. A few months later, in September 2001, the SL 55 AMG model celebrated its premiere. Among other things, the model was equipped with a new V8 compressor engine, which made it the most powerful Mercedes-Benz passenger car at the time. The vehicle completed the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. The design of the SL 500 in the AMG version was distinguished primarily by an even more powerful styling, strikingly shaped side members, dark-tinted tail lamps, exclusive 18-inch multi-spoke wheels and four chrome-plated exhaust pipes. And inside, the sports car also made a statement with colored topstitching and cockpit instruments with bright dials and red pointers. The SL of model series 230 always carried its fixed roof with it; The retractable hardtop also underscored the high design standards of the vehicle, although it could be opened and closed at the touch of a button or via remote control in just 16 seconds. And also as a miniature model, which is manufactured in die-cast zinc with plastic parts, the SL 55 is therefore sporty. As a hand-assembled precision model, the car was reproduced in the most accurate detail according to the original CAD data and painted in the authentic color. The interior details also follow the big brother, while four parts of the model can be opened (doors, hood and tailgate). The 1:18 scale model, which is delivered in a Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging, is also enclosed with a screwdriver that can be used to detach the screws from the packaging to remove the model car. The delivery package also includes a glove that protects the model from fingerprints.
